THE ACFSWA AT THE CHUNG WAH CNY FAIR 2021

The ACFSWA was proud to host a green screen stall at this year’s Chung Wah Chinese New Year Fair at the Perth Cultural Centre. We asked passers by to have their pictures taken and then superimposed onto images of China some of which were provide by Susan Moss who has been visiting China for over 50 years. You can see the results below. We hope that this will help us to grow our membership by connecting with people and families at this wonderful annual event.

ACFSWA XMAS PICNIC 2020

A beautiful sunny day in Perth sharing friendship, wonderful performances and delicious food with members, family and friends of the ACFSWA.

Every year the annual Xmas picnic gets better and better. This year the event was held at the amazing Mardalup Park reserve on the banks of the beautiful Swan River with fantastic views across the water to the OPTUS stadium and the fabulous Matagarup Bridge.

Everyone who attended had a great time and were thoroughly entertained by exquisite Chinese classical dance, spectacular Kung Fu demonstrations and extraordinary music with a beautiful rendition of the old favourite Aussie song ‘Click go the shears’.

If you missed this year make sure you don’t miss it next year!

ACFSWA XMAS PICNIC 2019

The annual ACFSWA Xmas Picnic 2019 was so special again this year with many members and their families joining us for a wonderful celebration of friendship in one of Perth’s most beautiful locations – Banks Reserve – beside the wonderful Swan River in Mount Lawley. We were also very pleased to welcome Madame Dong Zhihua the Chinese Consul General in Perth who mingled with all and gave a wonderful speech about her love of Australia and the many friends she has made in her short time here in WA. As well as fabulous food we enjoyed splendid traditional Chinese dance by some of the ACFSWA members. The weather was perfect, the food delicious and the company fantastic…can’t wait for next year!

A WONDERFUL CELEBRATION OF FRIENDSHIP

FRIENDSHIP NIGHT 2019

2019 sees the expansion of the ACFSWA Awards into the corporate and government sectors with the procurement of sponsorship from National Australia Bank, Nexia Australia and Gilbert & Tobin. The committee and in particular the president Nancy Chen saw the opportunity to create greater involvement from the corporate sector in creating a broader spectrum of friendly relations that will provide increased funding via corporate sponsorship, allowing the society to engage in more good works and collaborative initiatives moving forward. We are further encouraged by the firm commitment from Madam Dong Zhihua the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, who has helped and encouraged us to grow to encompass industry both here at home and abroad in China. We thank Madam Dong and the whole consular team for their support and friendship.

ACFSWA SENIOR’S GATHERING 2019 August 3rd 2019

Since the beginning of the ACFSWA 49 years ago many people have contributed to the fine work that has been done to create better relations between Australia and China. The senior’s ACFSWA gathering was all about celebrating the excellent and courageous work done by the Western Australian veterans of our society and to honour them for their many years of service and dedication.
